Huge well done and thank you to ALL of our participants, incredible entries all round that made it incredibly hard to judge – eeek!

Our judge has had a good look at all the entries and found it really hard to choose and I’m so glad to have passed the buck here, however we were in agreement with the WINNER and that’s Thomas aged 9 with his Werewolf Poem – CONGRATULATIONS THOMAS! Your prize will be mailed out to you tomorrow along with an extra surprise and should be with you next week in time for Halloween Here’s a copy of Thomas’s Poem for those of you who may not have seen it.

Cold Virus of Evil

It started with a tickle, then it metastasised and now it’s a demon cold from hell. One that has now taken my poor daughter too 😦 We are a sorry state of a family right now. James started coughing…it’s all down hill from there. I’m feeling very sorry for myself, mostly because I feel so poorly all my activities and fun stuff I had lined up have been discarded into a snotty and dusty heap. I’m in the middle of making wind chimes for Lizzie’s room, I have a couple of my own art canvas projects to start and finish for LIzzie’s room now the glue gun has arrived and a bunch of crafts for halloween to be getting on with and updating you all with but can I find the energy? No 😦 I’m considering intravenous caffeine…PURE CAFFEINE.

Ruby Rocks Win!

I cannot express my utter delight this afternoon when I received an email from Ruby Rocks announcing me as their Giveaway Winner! Absolutely bowled over – It’s been so lovely to win such wonderful prizes lately; a turn of luck it would seem. Huge THANK YOU to Ruby Rocks and cannot wait for the items to arrive and of course I will take a photo as they have requested wearing the lovely items they send – VERY excited mummy! What mummy doesn’t need a gorgeous new outfit to lift her spirits after giving birth and helping her feel good about herself again? Perfect!

Water Tanks, Independence and Surprise Deliveries!

Yesterday there was a distinct lack of posting on my behalf, my apologies. It was one of those days that got away from us. We knew it was going to be a long one, but it just kept going. Basically the water tank in our attic was old, rusting and falling apart and in desperate need of replacing, so a couple of weeks ago James bought a new one, one that won’t rust and we had to wait until his dad was available to come up from Cambridgeshire to help him install it.

That was yesterday. They had to go buy some materials and tools, re-position pipes, get the tank to the attic and build a custom support for it to sit on. It took ALL DAY. A good few hours, James said…well they started at 11am and finished around 9pm at night.

Hospital Day Patient.

hosp

Today was a very frightening day for me, I have severe needle phobia and the procedure today involved a needle stuck into my hip joints with the use of an xray machine to try and relieve the severe pain I endure on a daily basis due to Arthritis, inflammation and joint damage. The lining around my joints it so inflamed the surgeon is skeptical the steroid injections will be of any benefit, but he thought we should give it a go as there is nothing to lose. Once I was on the table and they started, out-loud I exclaimed to the room “What the hell was I thinking agreeing to this?!” It made the nurses chuckle.

The local hurt and the steroid hurt. There were no two ways about it. The nursing staff were excellent, kept me distracted through my yelps and squeezing their hands. Unfortunately I couldn’t have James there with me as he was looking after Lizzie whilst working from home. It was a long wait from 9:30am until 1pm.

I’m not supposed to do much of anything over the next 24 hours, but that’s challenging with a precocious 6 month old who is quite demanding!

Please excuse lack of fun posts, but normality will resume in a couple of days! Look out for our October Competition though which will be announced TOMORROW! 😀

Winners!

Winner stamp

It’s always exciting when you win something, well tonight I discovered an email from Netmums asking for my postal address as we’d won a Prize Draw having posted a review about our favourite outdoor place to play and we did a short review on Stonebridge Farm in Nottingham and were chosen as winners!

goat

I’d completely forgotten I’d done the review and that there was a prize involved, so it was a lovely surprise to get the email to say that our prize was sitting at Little Tikes awaiting dispatch! I can’t even remember what the prize was, how terrible is that, but it’s apparently an outdoor toy and you can bet I’ll be posting in here as soon as it arrives! I love winning stuff, even better I love winning stuff for my daughter even more 😀

We are very excited Osbornes this evening 🙂

Thank you very much, Netmums and Little Tikes!!

Don’t forget, you can vote for Elizabeth to win over at Tiny Testers Little Tikes where she has the chance to become one of the 6 new product testers for the company! Please take a moment, we are very appreciative to everyone who spends a few moments registering and voting!
